I was playing at the Coliseum this afternoon and heard from one of the trainers the WC have apprently completed a deal for Alexandre Picard-Hooper with a goalie(Sniderman??) going the other way plus obviously picks/prospects...seems like a good source. The deal was apparently completed around noon.

I'm a fan of that trade if it went through. I don't see what's in it for Baie-Comeau though cause Picard is only 18 and they could use him next year when they should be a competitive team. They do need a back-up goalie since Lacasse was traded so it makes sense.

I didn't even think of him as an option but this would be a great deal.

Rumor on the Fog Devils board is that they traded goalie Matt Spezza to the Drakkar..
Not sure how accurate it is....but the seem to think so.
Why would BC want both Spezza and say a Blouin?

Even though I said the Picard-Hooper trade makes sense, I still think Mathieu Aubin would make more sense. He's 19 so Lewiston isn't giving away a part of their future and I don't think he'd cost as much.

BUT getting Picard-Hooper makes more sense in my mind because he is 18 years old and will be back next year and possibly in his 20 year old season!

From Moncton's point of view, yes it makes more sense to get Picard, but from the seller's point of view, it makes more sense for Lewiston to trade Aubin than for B-C to trade Picard. Picard is their captain, their leading goal scorer and he will be back next year when they should be very competitive. Yes Aubin, who is a drafted player, can also come back next year too as a 20 yr and Lewiston should also be competitve but the situation with 20 yr olds is always sketchy and you can't always rely on 20 yr olds coming back. And it's the seller that decides if they want to give away their player, not the buyer, so we can't necessarily get what makes more sense for us.

Your looking at it from the other teams point of view! From the Wildcats point of view... It's cheaper at the moment to go with Picard-Hooper... He is costing us a back-up goalie, and something at the draft. Lewiston wouldn't want a goalie for Aubin... They have Bernier and Fullerton...

Well I don't exactly think Blouin or Sniderman is gonna make the difference in the trade, they will most likely act as a filler. Baie-Comeau can probably go the rest of the season with Vanasse as back-up anyways. I edited my previous post while you were typing yours, so like I said, the seller choses the buyer, and not vice versa. Baie-Comeau doesn't care what makes more sense for us, they only care what makes more sense for them. But yes, I agree that Picard makes more sense from our point of view.

Probably a first and Chabot or maybe one of Labelle/Lessard/Lepage Decided to stay home to watch the wildcats on the net and watch the football playoffs same time and a nice cold alpine at a cheap price. If this deal is complete it wouldn,t be for Chabot cause he,s in the lineup tonight .I think its a great pickup for the wildcats if this deal is true
