Apparantly, this is one rumor that is true. At the beginning of the game I heard some fans talking about how Carruther's was the ref tonight and how he hates Moncton and ther'll be a parade for Moncton to the penalty box. Even though Moncton had the advantage on the# of power plays, some of his calls were pitiful. The call on Yandle should have been assesed to CB for interference, not 5 minutes and a game for Yandle. On my way out I heard more than one person say they'd like to go around back and wait for Carruther's to come out so they could congratulate him on all the assists he had for CB. GOOD JOB ANDREW, YOU F*****G WANKER!!!

The second Goal was kicked in and that was the turning point. Are team did not show up tonight and it showed big time. Hard playing when you have cement in your skates. As for Yandle well he could of avoided the hit on the goalie and thats why he got the 5 and game.Sniderman did not let in easy goals tonight they were all well deserved except the one that was kicked in. Good to see J.S Adam back and giving Gallant a taste of a few knuckles .

sure you can blame the ref but sounds like the wc stunk the join out. PP were even at 6 each just cb scored on their chances. I do think the wildcat need to address there penaltie killing unit or we will be in trouble. Hope the game on friday is not as boring as the last time st.John's were here 1-0 wildcats. Need to come out hard and strong. Hope Yandle and Pineault don't let not getting invited to the usa camp bother there game to much. To me Yandle deserved to be there and Pineault is to lazy to be there and after signing that kids Team Canada jersey when he was injured that really surprised me ;D

OK you all have some valid points but, I still beleive Yandle did the only thing he could. I sit in the opposite end of the rink that it happened so all I saw was Yandle going very hard to the net. Almost a breakaway and the CB player push him from behind. So, now put yourself in Yandle's skates. You're going hard to the net with a lot of speed and somebody messes you up by pushing you and the only thing you see is the goalie. Do you jump to the side and crash into the net and hurt yourself? Do you go down and take the goalie out at the legs and go crashing in the net and have the goalie come down as hard as he can on you? Or do you do the only thing I think Yandle could do in the situation he was in, run the goalie that his own teamate pushed you into? As for Carruther's. I haven't heard the arena BOO a ref that much in one game for a long time so obviously somebody else felt the same way I do.

Yandle that was a cheap shot on Pavelec.........no need of crap like that! Carruthers well ..........he s Carruthers and still stinks to the laast minute when he definately missed that High stick in someones face......mind u wasn t intentional but still penalty. Snyderman did pretty damn good considering Cats didn t show up ......... And yes the Cats goal was a high stick shouldn t counted!
Now call me a" Homer"

Yandle cut into the goalie, he had ample time to avoid the collision...it was probably a combination of the frustration from Sunday...and from Monday...

my thoughts on the game:
cape breton did what they had to do to win. kudos to them. they weren't spectacular, but they were solid everywhere. everytime we had the puck, there was an eagle all over his ass, and this forced ALOT of turnovers, bad passes, etc by the cats - and they were never really in it - just running around like chickens with their heads cut-off. expect to see the words "comedy of errors" in hodge's story tomorrow.
as for key moments in the game:
1. oullet's goal was not kicked in. no way. he stuck his foot out to redirect it - which it completely within the rules. there was no kicking motion. if you want to get pissed of about that goal get pissed at welton who spit-shined, gift wrapped it and put in on a silver platter (i'd keep going but i'm out of cliches.)
2. yandle got what he deserved, and realistically he should sit for a game or two. if you couldn't tell that was intentional, i know a real good eye doctor. let me know and i'll give you his number. the CB defenceman stick checked him BEFORE the hashmarks, yandle had no puck and a good 10-15 feet to put on the breaks and he didn't even try. there's no place for that shit in the game IMO. he also swung his stick at a guy afterwards, not sure if anyone else noticed that or not.
now, for the cats, i want to give alot of credit to these guys:
1. sniderman - don't let the shots/goals count fool you. he played great. CB scored some NHL calibre goals on highlight reel passing plays. sniderman made numerous great saves on our seemingly endless parade of 2-1's against. had a little trouble with some rebounds but that's about it. i was disapointed he didn't get one of the stars. he deserved it IMO.
2. j.s. adam - yeah he took a pretty stupid penalty in the second period, but damn - for 90% of the game he was the only and i mean ONLY cat out there with a fire under his ass. i feel bad for him cause he won his fight and the team comes back and plays even worse. adam also made some nice stretch passes in the 3rd.
welton was easily the worst player on the ice tonight on both teams IMO. horrible, horrible, giveaways, lost nearly every battle for a puck, he just looked bad. no excuses.
as for carruthers, there were some questionable calls, but nothing that any other Q league ref wouldn't make. in fact, i thought he did a pretty reasonable job keeping both teams in check when shit was starting to get out of hand in the second. as i said, the 5 and game for yandle was the right call.

Carruthers was Carruthers as usual but he is not the reason we lost. He missed the call on the kicked goal. He missed the high stick on ours. Yandle definitely deserved a penalty on that play, maybe not a 5, but he deserved something. That was a dirty play in my book. The Cats lost because they didn't skate with the Eagles, they couldn't make their passes. Had they capitalised on one of their plays early in the first, it might have been a different game.
The only bright light was Adam's return and big win over Gallant.
Pavelec is an excellent goalie and very cocky. He oozes confidence.
Spencer got a taste of his own medicine and was getting frustrated at the end. He asked Fontaine to go about 10-15 times but was denied every time.

He also asked Victor a few times also ,don't know why he just don't drop them and go. I know some will say not right time again but tonight was the right time .Even had are captain ready to drop them.

as far as i'm concerned, spencer pulled that same stunt in CB earlier in the year. whether he was injured or not, doesn't really matter. tonight he got the pony turned around on him. it's even. next time they should drop them.

well remember when university of moncton blue eagles beat up a referee on PEI a few years ago well its him the asshole. carruthers so he hates moncton . so every game he does us expect the bad treatement. hes from PEI and he did finals of nationals in PEI AND MONCTON SHOULD HAVE WON AND DID NOT ALLOW A GOAL AND THEN MONCTON LOST THE GAME. the whole team beat him up.
