Article from SJ's website following their 5-2 win over Phoenix in the Consolation Game of their rookie tournament. " BERNIER UPDATE Fellow 2003 first round pick Steve Bernier was knocked to the ice by an elbow and carried off for precautionary reasons on a stretcher to be examined further.
“Bernier was playing really well and the early word is he is going to be all right,” said Hunter, noting that Bernier suffered a “burner”." Source: www.sjsharks.com/sharks/news/news.asp?news_id=1472

I also read where they felt he'd be better served to re-hab that head injury by spending a year in the Q. He should be here before Friday.

What's a "burner" or "stinger" as someone else referred to it?

Updates on other Wildcats I got from checking out some of the NHL sites. Adam Pineault has made the main camp in Columbus and I highly doubt he will be back for this Friday's season opener. Interestingly enough he will be on the same team as Phillipe Dupuis for intersquad games.
Martin Karsums was not listed on the main camp roster for Boston and should be back in Moncton shortly, however it doesn't sound like he'll be ready to go.
Matt Marquardt has surprisingly made it to the Ottawa Senators main camp, congrats goes out to him for that accomplishment. This probably means that he also won't be back for the season opener.
As of now Bruce Graham appears to be headed to NY Rangers main training camp and that probably means he also won't be back in time for Friday.
I didn't see anything about Keith Yandle on the Phoenix website, so I don't really have any info on him at this time however I won't be surprised if he is back in time for Friday.
Last but not least Stephane Goulet had an assist on a M-A Pouliot goal in the Oilers rookies 5-4 OT loss to the University of Alberta. Edmonton hasn't announced yet what rookies will be going to the main camp so it is still unclear wether Goulet will be back for Friday.

As there were no official confirmation that he was cut from camp, you seem to imply that he must be heading to the main camp...right?

On the Rangers website they had a star beside the name of players who weren't invited to the main camp "at this time" and Bruce Graham did not have a star beside his name. Therefore I assume he is headed to the main camp. The rookie camp ended on Sunday and I haven't seen a training camp roster posted on their website so I'm not sure if that's been 100% confirmed.

Thanks I just saw that. So obviously it was pretty well decided at the beginning of rookie camp as this list is 1 week old...
