Anyone planning on going other than the Cats? Just wondering if someone could give us their opinions on the game some time on the boards. I don't really expect too much from this game. From the players atending other camps and from the injured/sickness list in today's TT I hope we have enough players. Maybe Ted can tie up his skates! I wonder if Blanchard will get some playing time tonight?

I will put up a summary of the game here too. We have 6 guys at NHL camp ourselves so I would expect things to be a little more evenly matched then you think. Anyone in particular that you guys want me look for and report back on and I will do that right on here after the game. Is Yandle a go for tonight? Looking foward to getting a look at him and see if he is as good as reported.

The following are in NHL camps: Keith Yandle (Coyotes) Bruce Graham (Rangers) Martins Karsums (Bruins) Matt Marquardt (Senators) Adam Pineault (Blue Jackets) Stephane Goulet (Oilers) .... and of course 20-year-olds Bernier and Saunders Not making the trip due to injury/sickness: Brad Ouskun Maxime Belanger Sebastien Adam Taylor Moore I hope we ARE competitive tonight. I just don't know. I would like you give me your thoughts on Matt Eagles, a local guy, and on our goalies. Thanks!

Bad news and you guys are not going to like to here it either. I checked the MAINEiacs tv site and they chose not to do your game but the Titan game on Friday instead. Can you believe it. Hey at least on Friday you can watch your beloved Titan if you want. ;D I was hoping you could see it for yourselves. Keep in mind that when we play you during the season the games will be webcasted. From the look of things it should be a decent measuring stick. We are missing.... M. Aubin (Habs) M-A Cliche (Rangers) Korenko (Bruins) Denny (Thrashers) Roach (Wild) Paiment (Rangers)
We are in the same situation with Picard, already signed with Blue Jackets. I put him in the same situation as Bernier, as good as gone. I am not sure of the scratches for us.
OK looking at Eagles, goalies and as always fight recaps. Anything else I will check here before I head to the game.

Tried getting on here last night for an hour and it kept telling me to try back in 30 seconds. Sorry about that.
The 1st two goals scored tonight were weak on both ends. Blouin missing an outside shot with noone there in front of him beating him short side. That was sad. But Bernier felt bad for the kid and decided to do one better. Instead of freezing the puck immediately he slowly goes to cover it and Gaudet hussles and pokes it home for the WC's. The other Daneau goal (pp) was off a rebound that none of the WC's saw. Tough one for Blouin to stop but he gave up the rebound. I did not get all that great a look at the tieing goal for Moncton but it would have been embarassing for the Cats not to score on the 5-3 advantage. They had already missed on a few. Chaput's goal was nice and the reason why is he is not affraid to go top shelf and uses the time given to him.
Fight's Jakub Bundil Vs. Brandon Penner Not much to talk about here I think the players hit the ice before the gloves.
Maxime Mathieu Vs. Charles Tanguay It started of to be a good one with fist flying but quickly turned into a hug fest. I would not even call this a fight more of a no contest then anything.
As far as Eagles was concerned not a bad LITTLE hockey player but does not belong on a MC roster. He is all hustle but seems to lack in the positioning deptment last night in the few shift he had. He did look bad except on the second Daneau goal he was out of position and spinning around looking where to go. His talent is prevalent though. Someone that can be a good playerin the future but the WC's need it now. I think Nolan may like him for a PK specialist? Which will get him ice time this year.
Blouin did not impress me in anyway shape or form. The first goal should have been stopped and would have made you guys sick. The other two goals were a little bit more understandable. He seemed to be behind the play and would have trouble with guys that can go upstairs (Chaput goal). No where near what a back up goalie should be on a Memorial Cup bound team. Either that or he needs to improve FAST. Marchand looked good as well although a little bit of a mouth piece. He was your best player out there last night.Chabot and Samson put together a couple of nice shifts. Worked hard along the boards for a good 40-50 seconds creating a few chances but how often do you see it MAINEiacs broke out and Daneau put away a weak one from along the boards. MacDonald does not look to bad for you either. He seems to have some skills. Nothing really flashy but looks to be solid for the WC's. Not only my favorite name but seems to fit the guy well is Obelnicki, I would have like to see him square off with someone.

Thanks for the recap Iowz' ... just a note on Eagles ... in the 2 games he has played he has been dominant on faceoffs ... winning 12/16 on Friday and 13/17 last night ... for a 76% rating ... only losing a total of 8 in 2 games combined..

Eagles so far has shown a lot of skill...and a bit rough around the edges...playing for a coach like Nolan will help him greatly. I think on a rebuilding team in 06-07 he should take a regular shift on the 2nd or 3rd line depending on what the Cats have left.

We could use a young kid like that in lewiston. He sounds and looks like a specialist at this point. If he can keep that kind of pace on the draws he would be nice to have around for the important ones. I did not realize he was that good on the face offs. We are not very good on face offs here 42% coming into the game last night. I really think that he would be a good fit for most teams (like ours) in the rebuilding process in a few years he should be a good guy to have around. Yet face offs are pretty important and at that clip if he can maintain it may have more value to the WC's in the quest.

I haven't seen him in pre-season action yet but judging from those stats and his size it seems that he's another Stanson Donovan except 2 years younger and a lot more upside.
