Nah... you guys are good to go! Dont tinker with perfection!!! As for your request, the next big trade window opens at Xmas time I do beleive... so you'll have lots of time to THINK about what trades you'd like to make...

If Dupuis shows then a trade isn't absolutely necessary, but if he doesn't then sure. We need that guaranteed big point forward that he will bring. It would also mean that a quality point scorer would be pushed to the third line which I don't think of as a checking line. Q teams have a Checking line because they are not deep enough to have three scoring lines. So perhaps we have a forth line if necessary.
I think we are defense heavy right now. I know that the first six/seven defense-men are locks but the other three/four are very good as well. We could certainly trade two if needed for this year but what does it mean for next year.
I would just say that by Christmas the management and probably the fans will be able to tell for sure.

Lets see how well we do with who we have the first half. We don't know how much some of our returnees have matured over the summer. We might be surprised.

I agree, i dont think we need as much as some people think. We have close to PPG players in Graham, Pineault, Karsums, and Goulet. If Dupuis lands here that will be a big boost and guys like Marchand and Samson could break out this year too. We also landed Marquardt and Yandle, who should have an impact, and we have pretty decent depth overall on the team. I really dont think we are going to have to make too many moves before the deadline.

I think a lot will depend on how guys like Graham perform, if Nolan can light a fire under him he could be the gamebreaker we need, if not then I could see him being dealt.
No matter what, I think we'll have either 1 or 2 high-scoring forwards added by the January trade deadline, the only question is whether these forwards will be acquired via trade (we'll likely pay through the nose and it'll be painful next year) or if we'll luck out and have Dupuis and/or Bourque show up.
Goaltending and defence, I can't see many/any changes needed, I think we'll be up among the best 2-3 teams in the league.

Hey!We got the whole season to get ready................for the MC. One big practice 70 some games plus.............. I think that I speak for a lot of us here who would sooner win the Q and finish last in the MC then finish 4th or 5th in the Q and first in the MC. There isn't any practice games that I see.

I don't think our defencemen( as a whole) are physical, strong enough to handle big strong forwards.

I don't think our defencemen( as a whole) are physical, strong enough to handle big strong forwards. That is also a concern of mine. Losing Saunders and to a lesser extent Blanchette (not tall ... but quite physical)makes our D smaller. Demers is bigger than last year ... but not terribly physical. Bartulis also appears bigger in the one practice I saw him in ... but again not what I'd call a tough Dman. I don't know anything about Yandle yet ... and will wait and see on Belanger. Welton is playing a very nasty style so far but is not what I'd call a big guy either. Adam isn't a big guy either. It seems we'll have a very mobile D ... which will be good for the Q ... but how will we handle the WHL team in the Mem Cup ?

Can you help me find a list of their players and sizes? I think our team absolutely has to make a some trades to get stronger. Most of the optimism on this board is based on players having radical changes to their work ethic and style. Graham has been blasted for a lack of intensity, Pineault floated a lot last year and did not look willing to use his body, preferring to trail behind players and use his stick. Karsums needs to be healthy for the season. Everyone on the roster got bumped up the depth Chart when Bernier, Bourque and Saunders became potential no shows. We have some holes.

0-3 in the mem cup unless we make some major changes! Yeah, whatever Newf...go back to the Halifax board, Halifax puckbunny. While you're at it with bold predictions, who will go 2-1 or 3-0 at the Memorial cup since you obviously know about every team in the CHL.
