“ROY LEADS TITAN” FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: August 27th, 2005 Bathurst, NB - Veteran forward Mathieu Roy scored four goals, including a natural hat trick in the third period, to lead the Acadie-Bathurst Titan to a 5 – 4 come from behind victory over the visiting Moncton Wildcats before 1,598 at the K.C. Irving Regional Center, on Saturday. Roy’s game-winning goal came with 12 seconds remaining in regulation time and capped the come back, after Moncton had opened a 3 – 0 lead early in the second period. Jordan Clendenning rounded out the Titan scoring summary. Rookie Matt Marquardt scored a pair of goals in his first Major Junior exhibition game, to lead the Wildcasts, with singles coming from Stephane Goulet and Bobby Mazerolle. Rookie Jason LePage added a pair of assists, while Goulet had one assist, to give him a two-point night. Moncton outshot Acadie-Bathurst 33 – 26, including 9 – 5 in the opening period and 15 – 12 in the third. The teams had nine shots each in the middle stanza. Veteran Gabriel Bouthillette went the distance in goal for the Titan, allowing four goals on 33 shots. Sixteen-year old, rookie net-minder Nicola Riopel allowed five goals on 26 shots. Moncton was 0 for 5 on the powerplay, while Acadie-Bathurst went 3 for 7. Moncton’s next home exhibition game is on Friday, September 2nd, when they will host the Saint John Sea Dogs, in a 7 pm contest at the Tim Horton’s 4-Ice Center.

I guess that Marquardt are 100% here for the year now taht they have played a preseason game, they can no longer go NCAA.

I guess that Marquardt are 100% here for the year now taht they have played a preseason game, they can no longer go NCAA. It said in Saturday's T&T that he signed with the Wildcats for this season.
