Someone should contact EA Sports to come out with a CHL simulation game.
We could all play on line drafting, trading, cutting, placing players on waivers, setting up lines...
By playing several seasons (10 or so), we would see who would be the best managers.
It could silence some people who think themselves as experts (might silence me too).
It would be interesting.

Or some of us could stay right out of stuff like that. When would a guy like me ever find the time to get involved in that ... I'm too busy posting on 4 or 5 Q boards.

I saw that someone on Radoter last year had did an upgrade to NHL2004 (not sure on version) so that the International teams (pretty sure) would be replaced with Q teams. The players names was Q players, the rinks were even done to match the Q rinks (or ice surfaces)! Not sure how it all went together, but some of the people who tried it seemed pretty impressed. I know it's not what you were asking for exactly, but it's about EA Sports and the Q, so it's somewhere close I guess. If I see it again this year, I'll post the link to it.

Ive thought for a while now that a CHL hockey game would be cool. The biggest obstacle i see in getting one on the market, would be that there wouldnt be much of a market for it in the US.

The biggest part of the game would be the age of the players... when they can get in. And at 21 you out (with the limits of 20 yrs old on the team). Modifying the game as mentioned above would not address that. Still an interesting concept though.

Your right about the market problem... I wonder how many of these EA sports hockey game sell in the states vs Canada?

The add-on was about taking current (last year) Q rosters and playing a season or a playoff championship with Q teams / Q players.

Actually, there is already a game out there. Sorta. (and I realize this will sound like an ad NHL Eastside Hockey Manager - it's created by a company called Sports Interactive (they originally started off with a soccer sim that became huge in Europe, then they signed a couple programmers who are huge hockey fans and are not branching into hockey). It's distributed by Sega. www.sigames.com/ehm/The euro version came out in May, but there is a North American version coming out in a few months with updated rules and rosters. You can take control of something like 20 leagues across the world ranging from the NHL, to the QMJHL, to whatever pro league is in the UK. You draft, scout, make trades, etc. You can even watch your players after they leave your team to see how they do in other leagues. Of course, it doesn't have the graphics the EA games do. It's focus is on the management side of things... so it may not be everyones cup of team. But it's still a fun game.

EA Sports wouldn't get involved. There is virtually no U.S. or worlwide market other than Canada. There were be slim to no sales in the eyes of the big "EA".

You can play Eastside Hockey for free at www.fhockey.com/Hopefully they don't have an updated Wildcat roster so you can actually win a few games.
