You said Euros have a "self-centered agenda". That has nothing to do with knowing about the Memorial Cup. Where in this world do the words "self-centered agenda", make someone a racist?........some of you guys are just to set on getting a comment in at him that you're not even making sense anymore. He made a negative comment about the character of a group of players based solely on their country of origin. He has since said he didn't actually mean it the way it read, so there's no need to continue harping on it. And I didn't call anyone a racist.

You didn't call anyone a racist, I get that, but you did respond against him when he tried to defend himself........I wasn't really saying anything about you, but more the whole bullshit in general....... Euros have a self-centered agenda.......that's true......they come here for one reason......to try to get a shot at the next level..............and I'm not a racist, in fact that is not even close to a racist comment...........do you want some examples of what is?

How is that different than the North American players? They're all trying to get a shot at the next level.

I wouldn't be suprised if you see some players show up at camp but hold off making a final decision until just before the first exhibition games. You would think this would only apply to players are unlikely to make the team and leave camp to preserve their NCAA eligibility, but I recall at least one big name who made their decision while in camp.

If they come to camp, their decision to stay or not must be made within 48 hours...Exhibition games or not

If the player is paying his own way, he can stay longer than 48hrs and keep his NCAA eligibility (still no ex. games though). That shouldn't be too hard for MacAusland, seeing as he lives there.

I think Andrew MacDonald two years ago is one player who was in that situation. He came to camp unsure if he was going to stay. (Not that he was in danger of not making the team, but he wasn't 100% sure if the Q was where he wanted to be, he was still on the NCAA path).

Who was that? I was thinking of A Mac when I made the comment. Guess he made a good decision for his hockey career.

Anyone who suggests that a hockey player would strive to reach a higher level is clearly a racist.

Mine??
If the italics and "wink face" weren't straight forward, the comment was meant solely in jest/sarcasm.
