I really like Brown. I was excited when I seen the Cats use their 1st round pick on him. I was estatic when he committed to Moncton.
I wouldnt be surprised if hes a 2nd line player and on a poweplay unit by Christmas time.

"Brenton I would keep.....he can burn any d-man in the Q with his speed...if he can strenghten himself over the summer he could be very effective." The Cat's have stated that they wanted to get "bigger" and with the addition of several "bigger" forwards who have already been added to the roster ( maybe more to come) obviously it's not only a numbers game but also a question of replacing "smaller" players with "bigger players". I think the Cats and other teams such as the Buffalo Sabres saw that you still need size to compete, especially come play off time. If teams won't let you carry the puck in, then you need to have enough size to dump and retrieve the pucks. We have an abundance of small fast forwards but unfortunately we only need one, maybe two at the most. I would bet on seeing Moorehouse in the line-up. All teams need players who lead by example, guys who go to war each game. While there may be other more skilled players in camp...Ottawa showed us how far you get on skill alone...besides Moorehouse has become great on the boards, poped a few goals as well. With a little more skill up front this year he can excell at what he does best. Keep in mind that a team can only have so many soft players...I think a few of our softer guys from last year won't be on the roster this year . I like the direction were heading, should be fun to watch.

MacKevin, how would a PPG center like Mangan not make the cut? I could see him traded for a defenseman, but why would we cut him? Mangan was part of a toothless powerplay last year. He tips very well, and is a smart player and I thought he saved the team last year when we had no leaders or scoring abilities. He's not a power forward, not fast, small and easily disabled, and certainly won't be the PPG center this year with the younger players now a year older. You might be able to form a line with Marquardt-Mangan- and Brown if what we heard about Brown is true( Big and Bernier like). Two big guys and a little smart player line? But then wouldn't Eagles, Brenton, Labelle, or Cameron fit that role well either?

I wouldn't pencil Brown in as any more than 4th line as a 16 year old rookie ... counting on more is setting yourself up to be disappointed. Plan on a 4th line contribution, any better is gravy.

MacKevin, now you're saying that Mangan provided leadership and scoring ability last season when it was greatly needed. Why wouldn't we need that again this year?

MacKevin, now you're saying that Mangan provided leadership and scoring ability last season when it was greatly needed. Why wouldn't we need that again this year? Because the way its shaping up we have too many very high potential "developing" players and we don't have room for a player only as good as them that are tying up a 20, and not getting any better. Great smart and heart player but watching how little him and Marquardt added with their line in Halifax last year, I would hardly design my season around them. Its pretty bad when Lincourt was the offensive talent for that line. I'd trade that whole line for an 18 yr old first round defenseman and setup for next year and finish at least as well this year, if the players that are rumoured to be coming do.

Be interesting to see how Bezak fits into the forward picture. From what I've read so far (thanks for the links, people), he looks to be a player built for the North American game; not afraid to hit, good forchecking, and an able penalty killer.
Now with MacAusland re-entering the picture (according to some), there will be serious competition in camp for the 13 forward spots. Who doesn't make the cut?

I think Bazak could easily replace Brenton's role on the club.

At forward, this could be the most intense camp in years. Some good players will be cut.
