I heard this morning from a good authority that Nathan Saunders, Steve Bernier and Cory Crawford all signed pro contracts on the weekend. Saunders signed a three year deal with Anaheim and will start the season in the AHL. He has been told to expect to return to Moncton in November or December for the balance of the season and he is projected for the Anaheim roster in 2007-08 if he develops as they expect. No details on Bernier or Crawford.

Acadie Nouvelle writes this morning that Saunders is gone with the wind...FOR THIS SEASON.... Somebody told them that and, when I checked the article, they were interviewing Nolan... Sorry to disturb your glass house...

i have no doubt he'll start the season in the AHL. if he's having some difficulties adjusting though, i can see anaheim sending him here rather than the ECHL. that story is absolutely plausible IMO.

Crawford signed his contract with the Chicago Blackhawks last Tuesday. Unless things change, he will be playing in the AHL this season with Chicago's affliate team, the Norfolk Admirals.

Crawford cannot come back. He is too old for the Cats.

What do you think the impact will be for the Wildcats? Is that you? radoter.com/viewtopic.php?t=39894

When I was talking to this person this morning it crossed my mind that we knew about the signings before the draft but I took what I was being told was that the details had been worked out this past weekend..whatever. What I found interesting was the info on Saunders coming back in November or December. This is a good source who is very, very close to Saunders and his family. This would be a much better source than Acadie Nouvelle or, for certain, cbtitan. OK back to my vacation, anyone seen any tumbleweeds??

Sorry to disturb your glass house... ?? Does anyone know what this means? The CN building downtown ir referred to as the "Glass House"...that's where CN used to have a lot of office people, now it's mostly filled by call centers according to GOON...maybe chsb is planning on disrupting the call center industry as he has little success in his current line of work. Hope it clears that up.

Hoping a certain poster with a limited grasp of logic stays away,
How about this thought:
Knowing the type of hockey and hockey player that Nolan likes, how about this: with Pinneault and Graham, you have your 2 centers so how about picking up Asselin as a 20YO winger. He plays tough, doesn't mind fighting (although that was moreso as a 16/17YO) and he is top 2 line material.

If the price is reasonable it would be a good fit...though I think Pineault fits better on the wing, he was much better there last year than center...that means a center is needed unless Bourque comes.
