at the very least Saunders could have opened the door for Douville when he was trying to get out of the patrol car with his head ;D

as for charges hurting him for playing in the us i highly doubt it....he'll probably be chardged with assult and given probation and maybe months house arrest....nothing serious....happens all the time just the fact is he's well known...

at the very least Saunders could have opened the door for Douville when he was trying to get out of the patrol car with his head ;D I read that he didn't punch the bouncer in the face but rather "hit him with his shoulder" ... which could have occurred during the scuffle which would hardly be considered an assault. I think if 5 guys jump you and start roughing you up as bouncers so often do, then if one gets hit in the chops with a shoulder, elbow, or fist ... its tough luck and precipitated by the abuse directed toward the "assailant". I'll bet Irving hires a lawyer on his behalf and the charges will be dropped ... or minimized to a misdemeanour of some sort.

I really don't care
I agree that if the bouncers wanna play tough guy.. any injuries that occur are a result of their actions
but if say Douville pulled a Saunders and waited til the bouncer was looking away and then blasted him in the nose with a shoulder.. well that's definitely assault ;D
why would Irving hire Douville a lawyer?
Douville is not a Wildcat anymore .. who cares?

Saunders wanted to get in to it ... but he would have been 7th man in and ejected from the game ... and we need him on the ice and not in the penalt..... errr ... in jail. Jail....the ultimate penalty box.

why would Irving hire Douville a lawyer? Douville is not a Wildcat anymore .. who cares? I understand it all started when a couple of Islanders shot their mouths off about the Wilcats chances at the Memorial Cup and Douville had no choice but to fight for his old team. That's why Mr. Irving might send him a lawyer.

Douville is not a Wildcat anymore .. who cares? How does he hit him in the nose with his shoulder ... if the guy was "looking away" ? Irving is just that way ... he'll take care of his former players if something happens to them around here. You mean your owner wouldn't do that ? To Irving ... even former players are still Wildcats ... and this year the team will be bringing back Wildcat alumni to various games just for an appearance. The Rocket must be like the Leafs ... abandoning former players once they have left the team ... while Moncton would be like the Canadiens ... embracing the former players and maintaining a tie to them for their lifetime.

Think about it.... long and hard.. get back to me if you can't see any scenario where someone could be struck in the nose/facial area without looking straight at the person assualting them
