Sniderman - did a great job of sitting on the bench. You are so fortunate to have your #1 guy in mid season form all ready

The weirdest thing isn't even that Smith is gone. It's that Garth Snow is the new GM.I didn't realize that they even made suits with shoulder pads that wide.

Steve Downie is a great hockey player,as is Jerome Samson. They both bring different physical skills to the game.As we all have witnessed Samson is an intelligent and dedicated team player.
The question still remains. Is Steve Downie's volatility going to stand in the way of his ability to make the appropriate split second decisions at the pro level? The ability to bring a heightened sense of emotion to the game is only valuable if can be channeled into positive energy and actions on behalf of your entire team. Not as a show of ego, petulance or immaturity.

Samson has more highly defined skills than Downie, a more responsible sense of accountability to the notion of teamwork and a much better sense of discretion hockeywise. In fact Samson probably draws more penalties as a result of his tenacious play along the boards then any "quality" penalties that Downie might take. Not only should Samson be drafted on Saturday but certainly his intelligence and hard work deserve consideration for the WJC.

Who belongs to the quotation marks around the word "inconsistant"?

Lacroix would have been an obvious choice which would presumably not have required this amount of time for deliberation on management's behalf.Lacroix would have provided stabilty and continuity, two assets to team enviroment which would have enhanced the prospect of attracting FA's etc..In addition the players we still do have on the roster respect and love him.Unfortunately I think Billy's instincts are probably correct...he and Flynn are both going with Ted.

Let's put this in perspective. What's written on this board is almost always knowledgable, insightful and usually has a degree of objectivity. Of course it should never impact a current or future players attitude toward the Cat's first class organisation. What this site reflects, moreso than most any other board is the disposition of the Moncton Fans towards their team and that is what I do think translates into the stands at the Colisee. Most always that is a positive commentary. It is something the board and the fans should take pride in.

Now you listen "Dumbass"! It's amateur hockey!Even though a team may own a player's "rights" anybody can go anywhere anytime with the right negotiations. It happens all the time...all the time. By the way there are at least 12 vacancies in the OHL provided by OA's that are moving on or 86's that have already signed pro contracts.Be absolutely certain you know what you are talking about before you start talking
