Has anyone heard the rumor that Jason Rinzler was released by the Remparts and has a tryout with the wildcats? They might add him to the protected list and call him up in case of injuries.

If it is Goulet does it really matter as he will be gone with Samson at X mas. If it was Yandle that would get us as god a return as Bourdon. Maybe more as he did not have a severe injury and proved what he can do. Not saying Bourdon isn't worth a lot but Yandle could easily change the flow of the game almost by himself.

Think u shold add Remy Lamoureux, 17, 6'2",204 to your list, as I understand he is slated to be Cats future Enforcer.

Phoenix are nuts if they send Yandle back to junior at 20, I think there is a pretty good chance we will see him in the NHL at some point this year. Goulet, could happen, is Edmonton sharing an AHL affiliate or are they on their own? I could see him getting squeezed if they have a shared affiliate, and he may be returned to junior rather than the ECHL...

The Habs are alone in Hamilton this year, I think Edmonton is sharing an AHL team with another club.

Goulet is the only signed 20 year old the Cats might get back. Pineault Yandle Karsums are all ready for the AHL. Goulet could be but Edmonton sharing a team might force him to ECHL and maybe the Q.

Why would Val D'or have to wait until midseason?

Then adding Goulet would not necessarily be a big boost because you would be gaining a 50 goal scorer but losing one of the league's best defensemen. There is also the possability that you getting neither.
But IMO the preferred option would be to have Bourdon who could really help you in the first half and would get you a lot more return than Goulet would in a midseason trade.

Why would Val D'or have to wait until midseason? Yup you're right. In my mind I had the Samson-Goulet package but they wouldn't have to wait to get Goulet. No help to Mon at all. Edit: except maybe for a month if Goulet is returned early and Bourdon is kept until the start of the season or maybe even later if they keep him for an week or two. With the depth that Moncton has on defense, they really don't need Bourdon as much as they need a goalscorer. Guess the best scenario is Goulet is returned just before the start of the season and Bourdon stays with Vanc for about 7 0r 8 games which would take them until late October. That way they get Goulet for about 15 games before Bourdon arrives. But that is pie in the sky wishful thinking.

I wouldnt say Emanuelle is a lock. Heck, I doubt he even makes the team this year. He got caught in a numbers game last season, and with us being in a rebuilding stage, I predict a youngster will take his spot this year. Having not watched our FA Defensemen play yet, I'll go out on a limp and say Matt Boyle will take EMAN's spot. I believe he could be a sleeper of a pick and other teams will wonder why they didnt take him. He can do at 17 what Emanuelle couldnt do at 19. Despite his somewhat small size (5'11", 170) he can move bodies and get the puck out of the zone. In all, he's a "simple minded defenseman". He wont make many mistakes either.

Do you want to bet on that? I'll bet you a beer that Emanuele is there. If he has a good year he could also play next year at 20. I think Bourdon and maybe Welton or MacDonald also could be traded so they will need another veteran d-man.
