I also remember that coach a couple of years back who came to be an assistant to Larue when he took over for Coolen. I think his name was Liboiron. All the comments I heard were that the players really liked him and that he was a good communicator. He had a background in education and was a good teacher. Is he working with the -17 team in Que? I thought I might have read that in the paper.

From what I have heard, the new assistant coach is not from this area.

Nope, he just wears the shorts. ;D All I heard is that he is originally from Quebec and was coaching overseas last year. More to come tomorrow.

Just heard on the radio that the Wildcats have hired Tony Martino as an assistant coach. Apparently he coached over in Italy somwhere last year.

Looks like we will have an Italian Connection behind the bench. From what I can see in hockeydb, he was a goaltender in the minor pros for about 10 years. Afterward, he coached for 4 years in the minor pros and lead his team to the finals twice and then went to coach in Italy. Edit: Damn phone. By the time I finished 3 people had already filled in the info.
