Well it was a somewhat good day for Moncton players. Marchand got his wish of going in the first three rounds. Was drafted 71st overall by Boston Bruins. Andrew Macdonald was drafted in the 6th round160th overall by NY Islanders. I imagine Danny Flynn had a lot to do with this one as Macdonald was his golden boy all year. Good for him. Not a lot of people talked about the chance of him getting drafted leading up to yesterday. Matt Marquardt was drafted in the seventh round 194th overall by Columbus Blue Jackets. Good for him. He's probably pleased with that team as should Moncton fans. Doug Maclean has a good relationship with Moncton so we'll see Marquardt for awhile I think. The big surprise is Samson not getting drafted. I hope he gets a walk on, most likely from NYI and blows their rookies away.

samson will likely get at least a free agent tryout with an nhl team before his junior career is over. depending on his season, he may still get drafted next year too.

Columbus traded with LA to acquire another 7th rounder(for a 2007 7th) in order to draft Marquardt.

i thought Jerome Samson was a kid who deserved a spot on this years WJC team ... how could 30 teams pass over him in his draft eligible year?

I felt he deserved an invite-I don't think anybody said he should be on the team already-and he did play better than Downie in the Mem Cup. Watch him next year smart guy.

Off topic here but Gaudet is getting a free agent invite to the Islanders. Good for him. I bet Samson does as well.
