That sort of say to me that Bourdon is not expected to make Vancouver. Also it really upsets me that Val Dor won't be able to enjoy Marchand until he returns from the Canadian team. So that means that Val Dor wanted 5 players for Bourdon 1 of which will make the Canadian Team as well and Jerome Samson who also should have been invited.

This is great for Marchand. Be interesting to see if he makes selection roster in Dec.
Don't agree about Bourdon not expected to make Vanc though. Crosby was invited to this camp last August.

Don't be so sure about the V-D fans getting to enjoy Marchand - he was interviewed in today's T & T and basically confirmed every rumour out there about not wanting to go to V-D .... too far, too French, education concerns ... and admitted that he was considering Europe, USHL, Jr A - but would ultimately go wherever his NHL team told him to go... he said he wants a trade from V-D, who have told him it won't happen, and he said if they aren't going to cooperate neither will he... stay tuned, this could get ugly...

U honestly think Samson should be at WJ's????I agree he's great along the boards, but i don't think he's WJ quality.

He and Samson have similar skills ... with the exception of Downey's pest skills.

To me you give samson a centreman the Quality of Dupuis to play with I think he could get 80 with possible of 30-40 goals. Most under rated player I feel Samson is. I'm sure hoping Bordon make Vancouver next year

Samson has more highly defined skills than Downie, a more responsible sense of accountability to the notion of teamwork and a much better sense of discretion hockeywise. In fact Samson probably draws more penalties as a result of his tenacious play along the boards then any "quality" penalties that Downie might take. Not only should Samson be drafted on Saturday but certainly his intelligence and hard work deserve consideration for the WJC.

How much do you think the cats would get for him if he was here and they try to trade him a xmas time Billy?

I think they should be able to get a 1st rounder and a top young player from a contender...as long as he goes back to the player he was before his injury(clearly he was a shell of his fomer self in the Memorial Cup). He has a ton of playoff experience, WJHC experience, Memorial Cup experience plus he can be a shutdown d-man vs the best players on the opposition, something that's a rarity in the Q.

Peterborough played like crap at the Mem Cup but in the regular season Downie scored as many points as Samson did in just over half as many games. He also had 6 points at last year's World Juniors (I think he may have scored the winner in the Gold Medal game). Don't get me wrong, I think Samson is a great hockey player and I wish Halifax had him, but there's a reason Downie was an NHL 1st round pick, made the WJ team, and may even crack Philly's opening day roster next year and Samson wasn't, didn't, and won't.

Peterborough did play like crap but Steve Downie did also ... and Downie gets all sorts of opportunities on Peterborough that Samson did not get in Moncton in his predominant checking role. Downie is slow footed for a guy of his size ... I expected alot more from him from all the hype that surrounds him ... but I was severely disappointed ... not to mention the fact that he is a loose cannon that takes stupid penalties. Steve Downie couldn't carry Phil Dupuis' bag ... and Samson will be as good as Dupuis at 20 if he is given an offensive role at 19. Downie is a very good checking forward ... his pest skills make him better than Samson in that role. But Samson's offensive game is untapped.
