Who do u think will be the contenders next year? I predict Drum and Gat to lead the way.If Latendresse leaves though Drum will have to make a move in a hurry.
Quebec could surprise depending what they pick up for euro's.most of their d-men will be back.If Vlascic returns they will probably have the best d crew in the league.
Vd'O,B-C,C-B(with Pavelec) could also cause some damage. We should be bottom feeders along with P.E.I,S-J and Chi who will probably trade the rest of their assets.
Victo,Bat,Shaw,R-N should be about average. the other teams i did not mention should be between bottom and average.
Looks like the Maritime division will be weak once again!

East
Bathurst.....should start strong.....don't know if they will trade at Christmas to really go for it, or be content to be just strong.
CB.....with Pavelac will fight with Bathurst for top in the East.
Lewiston......should be a lock for 3rd and could surprise and move higher...
West
The west is a tossup, between Drummondville, RN (very good), Quebec and Gatineau.

I going to predict Gatineau. They had a strong young team last year and they are making the trades to go for it.

I don't see R-N as a top team although they do have a solid d-crew

I don't see R-N as a top team although they do have a solid d-crew They are as young and skilled as Gatineau...plus they have a proven goalie.

Bathurst looks solid but no more so then Lewiston and Lewiston has Bernier, by far a better option then the Titan have. Granted Lewiston still has some tweaking to do but they have the depth to do it. Aubin mostly will not be back but if he does that IMO would be bigger then Pavelec going back to the Eagles. Bathurst has a bigger question mark on their roster than most teams in this division with the approach that they have taken. Gambling on your goaltending could make for a very long first half and GM's laughing their ass off when it comes time to for the Titan to aquire one if they do not do so before the start of the season.

I have a feeling that the Titan are going into the Euro draft looking for a goaltender ... or if that doesn't pan out ... will make a move in August to fill that void.

While the Moose wont be a TOP team in the league, given our weak division, they may surprise some people, including myself. This euro may show up and be an impact player right away, and we add him to a young but skilled team already. Add in the possibility of guys like White, Cichy and Malone possibly reporting, along with Duchesne being back likely, and we could make some noise.
Going into last year, our defense was depleted with Macdonald, Brault and Lomanno being our only experienced guys, and we traded for POIRER! And as a whole, the defence core did pretty well. This year we will start with Bodnarchuk, Suchy, Chaisson, Poirer and Lomanno, a stronger core, but lack the high end top line guys like Brine/Carnegie. We will need some guys to step up and fill that #1 line role.
Coaching is still a questionmark however. But we should have a pretty talented team as a whole.

Sly has broadened his contact base beyond the France National Midget and Bantam programs to include the German and Austrian National Midget programs. Rumor has it that he like a german goalie by the name of Otto Bahn

Figure what the Cats will do with a core of Bourdon Welton A.MacDonald and Bartulis. Cichy is playing for the US U18 team and Malone is going to play USHL...plus they(along with your Euro) are 17 years old, a bit young to expect them to lead your team offensively. The Cats would also be a powerhouse with Strait Danis-Pepin Hayes Heffernan and Cross according to your logic.

Cichy has said in the papers that it is not likely this year, Malone has said that he plans to go USHL but will listen to what the Moose have to say similiar to what Bodnarchuk said last year. Either way the Moose will be fun to watch and I would prefer they take a run at the steve Anthony sweepstakes (although they won't be that bad)

I know what guys say in the papers... but you never know what could happen. But even without those guys, in our weak division, we have some young talented guys as a core and this euro may come in an light it up. A pretty solid D core, and Duchesne back, and this team will win some games. I'm just saying if some of our non-expected players decide to come, it will only help even more.

Euros rarely light it up at 17, I think some people in Halifax expect too much from him. There is a pretty big culture shock, living in a new country, far away from home, plus the big difference in style of play. Even guys like Radulov had an adjustment period getting into the Q...and he came at 18. He is a guy who can be an impact guy for you at 18 and 19 moreso than next year...if everything goes smoothly. As we saw with Jindrich, some Euros just never get acclamatised.

Yah and the odds are probably better of Aubin coming back then the Titan's are, on finding a good Euro goaltender in the Euro draft. Hey stranger things have happened.
