The article this morning was rather interesting. His manner of coaching, according to him, would make him a good candidate (on paper). However, his lack of experience coaching at the junior level and in North America would hamper his chances.

I think Kevin would be a good candidate. Look like he love to win and hates to lose. I imagine over in Germany in the larger ice surface there alot of offense. Now if he can help the young kids with developing offense skill but also look after your own end . How will he work with younger kids . I think he would be ok in that department. Sounds like he pretty confident in what he can do and what he has done which is a big plus being confident in what you can do. NOw if you hire him and get a good Assistant coach I think we will be ok. I say Give Kevin a Go.

Personally I think bringing in a guy that coached in Europe would be a huge mistake ... its a very different style of play. Watching European hockey last year during the lockout was like watching Tuesday night pick up hockey ... no heart ... just a bunch of guys playing shinny.

Europeen hockey despite the much larger ice surface,is very defensive minded i know the swedish elite league is super boring to watch. One would assume more open ice equals more offense, but in europe it doesn't. Just what we need another Larue??? Viva la trap

They may also look at Tommy Coolen again!! I heard Al McAdam told Bobby Smith that he was quiting the Mooseheads to take the head coaching position in Moncton because he wanted to coach for the best maritime Q team and a proven winner.

Al would make a good asst coach ... but he isn't head coaching material ... he would also come with many bad habits from a backwards organization.

The Sunday copy of "The Daily News" from Halifax did an article on Al MacAdam an on who would be his replacement in Halifax. They say that Rick Bowness would be an excellent choice but that he is "high on Moncton Wildcats owner Robert Irving's list to succeed Ted Nolan". They also say that much depends on the coaching changes in Vancouver expected this week.
As an aside, Vancouver Canucks winger Anson Carter has signed a movie deal to produce a film on Ted Nolan's Life. It's expected to start filming next summer and will include this past season and his return to the NHL.

Of course anyone being considered by the Moose will be high on Irvings list, both are in the market for a coach.

I hate to be down on hometown boys but I hope we can do better for a coach than a lifetime hockey bum. A career spent coaching sub minor leagues in Europe is not the kind of resume we are looking for. And don't come back with posts about Dave King or Pierre Page, they went to Europe after having proved themselves at a high level. If there is no better person available I say give the job to Dan Lacroix if he wants it. Hopefully he was deprogrammed of anything he learned from Larue and picked up a lot of insight from Nolan and Flynn.

If nothing else crops up for him and he's willing to give it another go, I'd have no problem seeing Lacroix behind the bench again. Of course, he could feel kind of put out... having to step aside for the big year only the get the chance to come back once the team fades back into mediocrety.... I wouldn't blame him if he had that mindset... hard to say, though.

Lacroix knew it would just be a temporary move when he was named head coach...however, I think he is headed to NYI with Nolan and Flynn.

Lacroix would have been an obvious choice which would presumably not have required this amount of time for deliberation on management's behalf.Lacroix would have provided stabilty and continuity, two assets to team enviroment which would have enhanced the prospect of attracting FA's etc..In addition the players we still do have on the roster respect and love him.Unfortunately I think Billy's instincts are probably correct...he and Flynn are both going with Ted.
