What would he bring on trade or are the Cats even contemplating trading him. I haven't heard his name anywhere in the rumour mills. He would play a lot bigger offensive role next year I am sure on the Cats but what could he fetch before the draft?

To convince him to come here, the Cats probably promised him that he would not be traded.

Can't see him bringing much in return... 3rd line bangers will little offensive ability are a dime a dozen. Maybe a 2nd line player on the Wildcats next season though.....with some odd time on the 1st. Good luck with that.

He'll likely be a fixture on your top line next year. I'd keep him as he would bring nothing better than a 5th.. more likely a 6-8th in return right now
Perhaps by xmas he might have discovered how to actually hit the net with his shot and uped his trade value

I wouldn't say he has little offensive ability, he's got a wicked wrist shot and besides Pineault I thought he had the best shot on the team out of the forwards. Obviously with his role he did not get much chance to use it.

I really hope we do keep him as he is fun to watch. I thought he improved quite a lot during the season. If he could just time his checks a split second sooner. He started hitting harder in the last part of the season and seemed to have a little more offense to his game. Look forward to watching him anyways.

He did not play on the first or second lines until very late in the season when we got our injuries. He played very well on the second line IMO and on the PP when he was in. He spent most of the time on the third and fourth lines. He should be able to put up at least 70 pts next season.

Good luck with that. 16 goals while playing half the year on the 4th line ... 5 playoff goals while playing mainly on the 4th line ... loves to hit and hits like a truck ... a kid that really improved his conditioning and skating from September to March ... a kid that Ottawa tried to sign to a contract last September ... a good kid to return.

The kid is a 3rd line grinder..... Don't try to make him something that he's not. Tyler Hawes put up better #'s then he did....on a bad team, and on the 3rd line mostly. Hawesy had 18 goals and 31pts.... Maybe he'll break out and put up 90pts this season....

The point is he will be a very good power forward. He can crash and bang, has a good shot and on the first or second line with more shifts and more responsibilities he will put up those numbers.

Hawes is big, likes to crash (wish he would more often), and put up better numbers then Marqhardt.....and he played mostly 3rd line and on the PK. I dont expect him to get 70pts this season though...
