We shouldn't lie to ourselves, Nolan isn't back next year. If Nolan doesn't sign a contract to coach for a pro team in the off season, he'll have to keep coaching somewhere until he gets the opportunity. He can't just sit back and wait for an offer. I wouldn't be surprised if we saw him start the year in Moncton.

We shouldn't lie to ourselves, Nolan isn't back next year. That was the reason for my . The chances of Nolan coming back are slim to none...probably closer to none. The NHL has had 8 yrs to hire him ... it wasn't like they weren't sure he could still coach. He left the NHL as Coach of the Year. Doing well in Moncton probably isn't going to change the minds of those in the NHL ... he has been blackballed. On the other hand ... NHL teams in need of a Coach would be stupid to not enter dicussions with him.

He was offered a job by Tampa Bay (I think) but turned it down, after he turned down the 1 year offer from Buffalo.

Nolan is too positive a person to dwell on the negative of not fitting in with the NHL old boys club. He isn't going to say he was blackballed in the media ... that would be the final nail in his coffin. How many NHL teams that have looked for a new Coach over the last 8 years couldn't use the services of a proven guy like Nolan. Unfortunately ... race may play into it too. But that is our gain I guess. Nolan has been a good role model for us all.

Why would race play into Nolan not getting an NHL coaching job? How do we know that Nolan didn't get offers from other teams after Buffalo but he turned them down or made too many demands/requests that teams were not willing to accept? There are so many things that go on behind the scenes that we don't know about and don't hear or read about through the media. I am just saying there is likely alot more to it than someone simply being blackballed or that no one wants to hire him for no apparent reason.
