I'm only saying I hope the trade was conditional on him making the team just like Dupuis. But on a second note I would not expect the Wildcats' to be stupid enough to cut a guy that cost them that much. You trade him.

i doubt he was cut, he looked pretty good to me, that would look horrible on our part if we through that draft pick away

Until I hear it from the Cats, I don't believe it. The 'whoever' from the Q site probably made a conclusion from not seeing him on some out-of-date roster.

He has probably reinjured his groin. I don't know if anyone noticed but he left the ice early (second or third period) during the period at the last exhibition game, and never came back.

I am not sure how accurate that list is though - he lists Gardiner as a new addition, hasn't he been cut? At this point, I tend to agree that the Q site is likely wrong, and that is what I will believe pending official word from the Cats to the contrary. But, I would not be that shocked if Belanger was cut - it is not inconceivable that his hamstring/groin problems are a smokescreen for other problems which I could see the team cutting ties over if they can't be resolved... We knew there was a risk when we acquired him, from a non-hockey point of view...

We knew there was a risk when we acquired him, from a non-hockey point of view... If they just cut him out of the blue and said it was an injury I could see it, but he had a hamstring problem on the first day of camp and left the ice midway in the 3rd on Sunday with Graham Black...maybe it just tightened up and they wanted to ice it down...but it's definitely not a smokescreen. He could still be let go as he had off ice issues in B.C.

He played Sunday night and was solid ... but he did leave the ice early late in the 3rd. The only reason he would be cut if his "injury" is long term ... or if his former problems are still current problems.
I wouldn't pay attention to anything on the Q site ... they have been way out of date all pre-season.

All the rosters were updated yesterday after Monday's roster deadline...but maybe he was just overlooked or had not yet chosen his number.
