Has anyone seen Bélanger, Graham, Marchand and Karsums out on the ice yet?
I know there was something with Bélanger, flu or injury, that preventing him from playing earlier in camp. Karsums we've heard mixed reports all summer. Graham and Marchand, I simply don't recall seing any reports, as if they hadn't played yet.
So, anyone know their status or how they're looking out on the ice?

Belanger reportedly had a hamstring problem ... he took the warmup for an intra-squad game and left the ice before the game started ... so he is in camp and yes I have seen him. Graham is in camp and I watched him in an on-ice session that was made up of mostly returning players. Marchand is also in camp and I saw him in the same session as Graham ... and he looked much faster. Karsums ... I have nothing "visual" to report ... other than I was told by a guy that Bartulis told him that Karsums was arriving the next day ... that was a week ago.

I saw Karsums with Bartullis last game at the 4-Plex. He was walking without a limp, he didn't look injured.

I also saw Karsums with Bartullis at the 4-Plex. I know I reported Karsums having an operation from sources very close to the situation but after seeing him walking with no visible limp I myself wonder about the information. The operaton would have been about a month ago so maybe things are going really well or the operation may not have been that intrusive, any which way I'm perplexed after seeing him walk with no limp.

I wish i knew, I could only make out some english words they were using, and when they'd say the players names. I swear they were talking about the boston red sox for 10 minutes

Don't get your hopes up, those hangnail removals can be quite debilitating.

Some information about Karsums and Bartulis from a contact of mine in the Latvian Federation. I am paraphrasing cause his english isn't the best About Karsums, his surgery was to repair a vein in his foot, around the aknle area. Apparently they were having a lot of trouble finding a doctor to do the surgery in North America, but Karsums had found a doctor to do it in Latvia, but the Wildcats and Bruins wouldn't let him get it done, so he eventually got it done in the US. He should be alright for the beginning for the season, but they dont want to rush it. Bartulis was working out all summer with CSKA Moskva, and there was a real possibility that CSKA would get him back for this season. He had informed the team that he didn't want a one-way contract to only play for CSKA-2. but he wanted to get a two-way deal with a guarenteed number of games in the Russian Super League, but the team declined, so Oskars is back with the Cats. I think it is more Oskars' agent than Oskars himself, as I know Bartulis likes it a lot in Moncton.

Thanks for the info guys! Living in Fredericton is brutal by itself, it's even worse when hockey season rolls around and we have to plan which games to attend weeks in advance!

Reading about Karsum's ankle injury I can see why the team tried to keep that top secret and wouldn't even talk about it... Cripes, it sounds so mundane, I can't see why the team couldn't mention it at some point this fall camp just to reassure all the season ticket holders that Karsums is a go. Instead they let rumours run their course with all sorts of misinformation being bandied about. Sometimes a little news about the team injuries isn't a bad thing.

you keep injuries a secret so the opponents don't try to re-injure the player in the same place that probably is still weak. A couple of good slashes to the ankles could end his season this year! Then we will truly be screwed!

Then we will truly be screwed! How would a slash or 2 reinjure a formerly sprained ankle? That makes no sense. Maybe a separated shoulder or bruised ribs...or broken jaw, but not a sprained joint.
