It was team Red vs Blue. Better intensity than Saturday morning (missed Sunday morning, but Steve tells me it was a yawner).
Blouin played the entire game for Red, never really tested, came up with a few nice saves, I'd say maybe 4 or 5 difficult stops. Can't see him staying, not unless we get him for free from VD.
Obelnicky moved from team Green to Red replacing one of the Kellers, and Hepditch moved from Blue to Red to replace the other Keller. Never noticed either player. Tanguay moved from Green to Blue replacing Hepditch up front.
On Blue, goaltending was split between Cote-Vallieres and Debuono. I'm guessing the coaching staff wanted to see more of those 2, Riopel and Leduc weren't dressed.
Cote-Vallieres was absolutely shellacked with rubber, Red was the dominant team in the first period and built up a 4-0 lead.
Debuno played like guano, let in a weak goal reminiscent of Tremblay in the 04 Memorial Cup against Kelowna, went right through him.
Here is who I was impressed with :
Red :
Goulet - 5 points, I think he may actually make this team.
Lepage - great speed, played with Goulet, scored 2 goals.
Marquardt - Sure glad we won the sweepstakes on this guy so far, good speed, puck sense and isn't afraid to get dirty so far.
Blue :
Welton - scored on a nice goal, top shelf to ruin Blouin's shutout. Him and Moore were talking all game, he got a penalty shot when Moore tripped him up at the blue line after some shoving between the two.
Eagles - only showed up with about 3 minutes left in the 2nd period, but liked what I saw. Hopefully he can come and compete entire games soon.
Calitri - Seems like a little pest, good shot and speed.
I didn't notice many others, the game was split in 2 intensity wise, first period it was all team Red. 2nd period Blue finally showed up and had the edge in play. If it wasn't for Goulet, Clinton and Lepage, this game would've been boring.
The lack of fisticuffs is frustrating as you can see the reason why a few of these guys were brought into camp like Moore.
