Saw all 3 games-2 periods each. Best man on ice was Matt Marquardt-2 goals, 1 A and strong presence. Pinault was sniping and looked great(maybe bigger than last year?)had 2 or 3 goals. Rookies that sood out were Matt Eagles-speedy and shifty, and Chabot-3 goals. Out of free Agents(other thanMarquardt( I was not terribly impressed, but the Keller twins were pretty solid. On defence, Welton was good, and Demers was always in great position(wish he were bigger). Gerard and Gaudet played good games, Marchand didn't play. Hepditch was very unimpressive.

I only seen the afternoon game and the three players that stood out the most in a positive way were Tanguay, Moore and Keller (forward).
As far as a disapointing performance, I found that the whole "work ethic", "lunchbox" bullshit was not evident. The game was boring and nobody seemed as if they would go through a wall to be on this team except for the three I mentioned above.
OUSKUN was a disaster. and the big goaltender was weak as well. (not sure who he was)
Bottom line was that I didn't really see anything special out of that game.

Saw the 3 games today. Was impressed by a few of the players. Marquaardt was very impressive. Moore played better than I expected him to play. He is a far better player than Cormier. As far as fighting is concerned I don't think this is quite the time for it. Maybe we'll see it Monday or Tuesday when the real faint for positions on the team takes place. If not watch out at the exhibition games. I saw a lot of positive things withe Keller the defenseman. He is a bit small but did move the puck very well. Very good at getting the puck out of the zone, very good passer and carried the puck well. Seems to be very smart out there. Did not stand at the blueline waiting for the puck to come to him. Moved around alot to get open and receive the puck. Looked like he could be a good quarterback for the power play. Welton made a lot of nice rushes today also. One person that impressed me was 16 year old Lessard. Appeared to be relatively big, solid on his skates, hard to take down and made very good plays. Probably will not make the team this year because of his age but a good prospect for the coming years.
I believe this is just the starting point of building the team. I don't think that anybody who makes the team can be considered safe until after January 10 the trade deadline. If they do not play to the standards I believe they will be replaced by free agents or via the trade.
